LEONARDO AND OUR LAND

Sporting Milano3

Inventor, painter, sculptor, scientist and dreamer: a genius.
Born in a small town in the province of Florence, Leonardo Da Vinci, thanks to his intellectual acumen and his versatility, perfectly embodies the figure of the Renaissance man and is recognised as one of the greatest geniuses in the history of mankind.
On the occasion of the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of his death, the Tuscan Maestro Andrea Roggi pays tribute to this extraordinary figure thanks to the exhibition of the artwork Leonardo and our Land, memory of Leonardo's Vitruvian, shaped according to style and poetics that distinguish Roggi's art.

The majestic bronze sculpture will be exhibited at the Sporting Milano3 from the 16th of December 2018.

Castelfalfi

The Circle of Life is a temporary exhibition of Italian sculptor Andrea Roggi — one of the most appreciated artists on the Italian art scene — born from the collaboration between The Circle of Life Art Gallery and Toscana Resort Castelfalfi. The six bronze artworks placed in the indoor spaces of this charming Tuscan resort weave an artistic path capable of offering a renewed look on the original architectures of the resort and on the marvelous landscape surrounding them. The Circle of Life, represented by the golden sphere ever-present in all his works, encapsulates the meaning of Andrea Roggi’s artworks, it is the primordial essence of our life, the regenerative element of humanity, on which we depend and to which we are irresistibly drawn. The exposed sculptures revolve around one of Roggi’s privileged themes, that of the Tree of Life, which dates back to the classical tradition and sees in the olive tree the emblem of solidity, roots and peace.

The Circle of Life Art Gallery is structured in three art galleries located in Cortona, Pietrasanta and San Gimignano. The spaces of the three galleries are based on the concept of space as an aseptic and neutral container. The works of Roggi — the master called upon to interact with the environment while interpreting it — find here a perfect setting thanks to the alternation of white surfaces, concrete and glass structures. The Circle of Life works together with private and public institutions, in addition to taking part in the most relevant international art fairs. Eight monumental bronze artworks created by Roggi have recently been installed in the cities of Assisi, Casole d’Elsa, Castiglion Fiorentino, Cortona, Forte dei Marmi, Matera, Pietrasanta and Spello. The exposition will continue until the end of October. An art itinerary that touches upon Umbria and Basilicata, and eventually reaches some of the most evocative and historically rich cities of Tuscany.
